2008 Webmasters

Meet the Webmasters

Here, you can learn more about us international webmasters at the Yamanashi Multilingual Website. We keep in contact with Friends of Yamanashi network members and can help coordinate new international exchanges, so let us know your exchange program ideas!

Jenka Eusebio-USA, English Language Webmaster

Jenka Eusebio

Hello! My name is Jenka Eusebio, the Yamanashi Prefectural Office's American Coordinator of International Relations. Born and raised near Washington D.C, I loved going into the city to visit art galleries and museums. For college, I attended the University of Michigan, where I pursued literature and creative writing. I also had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Tokyo and participate in the 59th Japan-America Student Conference, where I learned the importance of fostering intercultural relations. I am happy to be assigned in the beautiful prefecture of Yamanashi, which is quite different from anywhere I had ever lived.

Érica Tanaka-Brazil, Portuguese Language Webmaster

Erica Tanaka

Olá! Tudo bem? I am Érica Tanaka, a third –generation Japanese-Brazilian from São Paulo, and Coordinator for International Relations in Yamanashi Prefecture since 2005. My background as an educator in Brazil has given me the foundation to help build a multicultural Yamanashi where you'll find integration and comprehension of cultural diversity. My grandfather, who emigrated to Brazil, struggled for the spread of Japanese education and culture in Brazil. A century later, I am in Japan with a similar duty – introducing Brazil to the residents of Japan, distributing information to the Brazilians that live here, and strengthening and reinforcing the Nipo-Brazilian relationship. On my fourth year as a CIR, and during this momentous Japan-Brazil Year of Exchange and centennial of the start of Japanese immigration to Brazil, I am looking forward to getting Yamanashi residents closer to the Brazilians living in the prefecture and all over the world through our home page.

Yáng Yuányuán-China, Chinese Language Webmaster

Yang Yuan Yuan

Dàjiā hăo! I`m Yáng Yuányuán, and Exchange Employee from Yamanashi's Friendship Province of Sichuan, China. My home province of Sichuan is a beautiful land full of mountains and rivers, and is where you'll find Suining City, a tourist spot with over 1,660 years of history. Located in inland, western Sichuan, Suining—also known as the “Hometown of the bodhisattva Guanyin (Kannon)”—is a city undergoing rapid development. Suining is home to a variety of landmarks related to its rich and unique culture surrounding Guanyin, such as the city's Lake Guanyin, two times larger than the Lake Hangzhou Xihu and the only Dead Sea in China; the historic Guangde Temple, which received imperial recognition 11 times over; and the Porcelain Museum which is home to over 900 pieces of excavated Song-dynasty porcelain. I will spend the next year as an Exchange Employee amidst the beautiful nature of Yamanashi. I am very fortunate to be able to experience Japanese culture and study and use the Japanese language on a daily basis, and I believe that this experience will be an asset to me for the rest of my life. I hope that during my year here I can meet many Japanese and get them to understand a bit more about China and Sichuan, and I also hope that after informing Yamanashi of the friendship of Sichuan Province, that I am able to take some of the amicability of Yamanashi Prefecture back to Sichuan.

Chae Hyeonsook-South Korea, Korean Webmaster

Chae Hyeon Sook

Annyeong haseyo, everybody! I'm Chae Hyeon-sook, an exchange employee from Chungcheongbuk-do in South Korea. Chungcheongbuk is a beautiful province known for its delicious fruits and rice. The area is currently developing as a Special Economic Province, making full use of its convenient transportation networks and topography. I wanted to come to Yamanashi because there are so many similarities between our two regions that I feel an affinity with the prefecture. I hope to introduce a lot about Chungcheongbuk-do, and also learn a lot about Japan. And I hope to exchange lots of information through these web pages. Please, knock on the door and come on in! We'll be waiting for you here at the website.

Jia Man Lin-Canada, English and Chinese Language Webmaster

Jia Man Lin

Hello everyone! My name is Jia Man Lin. I was born in Southern China, and moved to Toronto, Canada with my family at the age of 13. Most of my friends call me 'Mandy.' I double majored in Criminology and Psychology at the University of Toronto in Canada, so it is not hard to imagine me watching all the episodes of CSI and Law & Order. I enjoy learning languages. I am working on my Japanese and would love to pick up more French along the way. I also love traveling and photography. During my one year as an exchange student in Japan, I visited over 30 cities in Hokkaido, Kanto, Kansai, Shikoku, Chugoku, Kyushu and Okinawa, and  collected countless shots in my camera.
